A slightly more elegant companion to the 12R...

I have previously reviewed the Frye 12R Harness boots as my most adored go-to everyday boots that I can't live without. I always wanted to try the 15r boots as well since I'm 5'10" so I love tall boots. Around Christmastime last year I found a pair in the Khaki Old Town color on sale for $150! I couldn't resist.
Despite the big difference between these and the 12r only being 3 extra inches in shaft length, I find these boots a little less versatile than the 12r's. These are beautiful and very elegant boots. The length makes them a bit more so sophisticated than the 12r's. I pair them with jeans or a nice dress, but I would never wear them with shorts or a skirt. And that's okay cause I don't mind saving these for more special occasions.
The Khaki Old Town color is a beautiful creme with just the tiniest hint of yellow-green to it. I realize how weird that sounds, but it is truly lovely and unlike any other color I've ever seen. The finish has a slight sheen to it that isn't quite shiny but maybe satin. The heel and sole are brown with a rubber gripped bottom to prevent you from slipping and sliding all over the place in wet or snowy weather.
I love the harness look can be dressed up or down. I think these boots can be made to fit any style of fashion, from hipster to bohemian to western to tomboy.

Great Boots!

These boots are comfortable to wear and they look great! Mine are still in their break-in period. I ordered my normal size and like it much better with thick, comfy boot socks than a half-size down. These are tall so make sure you get some good dark colored socks that stay up when you wear them. Also, make sure you train them to crease so they don't dig in to your ankles. Great boots but narrow tops

These boots are beautiful and comfortable on the foot but the tops are narrow and fit snug to the leg. Impossible to tuck jeans in and I am not a big person. Switched them out for the 12 inch harness and absolutely love them. I ordered half size down and was just right. My foot is on wide side of medium and they are little snug on width but not uncomfortable. I went full day in them right off the bat. Excellent workmanship and they smell like a brand new saddle. Love it!
