awesome boots

These fit true to size. My cafe is 12.5" and they fit perfect with jeans! When they first arrived they fit a little funny in the back of the ankle, but after wearing them for a day they feel great. I did add a, ball of the foot, gel insert for a little extra padding and that did make them more comfortable. I'm 5'4" and they hit and inch below the bottom of my knee, which is perfect! The leather is soft and feels well made. I did normal shipping and they arrived in less than a week.

These boots are fantastic! I've been looking *everywhere* for boots that don't make me look like I'm wearing long galloshes. I'm 5'3" tall with 13" calves and they are perfect in length and width - and there's no gap at the top! I bought them in 3 colors and got rid of my other boots. FINALLY!

For anyone who loves the style of riding boot, this shoe is perfect. The chain thing at the bottom instead of a buckle is really cute and I love the look of the pull tabs at the top. At first I was just looking for a basic boot with no extra decorations, but this style is simple, flattering, and fashionable. I got the cognac color because I wanted a light brown that complemented every color so I could wear it with everything. The color is almost exactly the color in the photos, so I am not disappointed; of course, the brown color is not completely uniform throughout the boot (there are some inconsistencies). This is due to the type of leather they used to make the shoe (nubuck), and adds to the vintage, distressed look of the boot (which I love, but I understand some people don't like it). The leather is soft and wonderful; however, I have only worn the boot 2-3 times and cannot tell you how it holds up. The material is soft but I'm not sure how sturdy it will be over the course of a few years (I'm planning on wearing this boot for a long time because of how expensive it was).
As for size, I think the boot fits true to size length-wise, but it is quite narrow. I am hoping the shoe will adapt to my foot eventually because I like it too much to return it. I researched this boot on many websites before purchasing it because I wanted a boot that fit my calf. I have very narrow calves (about 13 inches) and so it's really hard to find a boot that fits snugly. Every cheap boot gaps a lot, and so I had to spend a lot of money to find the perfect boot. It was worth it, though. The opening to this shoe is almost perfect for me- the calf fits perfectly around jeans, and gaps only a little with thick leggings. I bought some warm knee-length socks so that they wouldn't gap as much, and they are basically perfect. They look sleek and wonderful and I'm very happy. Of course, I bought a smaller size (6), so the fit of the calf may be partly due the size. There is some goring on the top of the boot to fit thicker calves. I'm 5'4'' and these boots come up past my calves to about an inch below my knee. I think they might look different on differently-sized people. Lastly, some things I love about the boot are the narrowness of the ankle area (very flattering) and the presence of the side zipper (makes putting on and taking off much easier).
The boots are way cheaper than the original price (over $200?) and for me, even cheaper with Amazon discounts and free shipping. So for the price, this boot is really great. It looks so cute! If you're considering it, buy it!! I've had no major problems with it so far and I'm very happy with the way it looks :)

I've been wearing these boots all winter, they have been holding up great, and I love them! I wear them nearly every day- they are comfortable and durable. Glad I spent the money!

I liked these boots so much that I bought them in black also. I wore them all last winter and they still look great! The black ones are not as soft as my brown ones but I think it might be because I have not broken them in yet. They are just as beautiful as my old ones.

I only have had them for 2 days, so it might be slightly early to say that they are so awesome, but they fit great! I ordered a 7.5 and I am normally between a 7 and 7.5 depending on the shoe, and I figured with socks and/or boot socks they would fit great, and they do. They seem to be of high quality leather, which you would expect with Steve Madden. They fit great around the calf, and aren't too big, like a lot of riding boots, and the heel is the perfect height. I definitely would recommend these to anyone looking for a great riding boot to complete their fall wardrobe.

I love Lucky Brand items. From their jewelry to their shoes but God. These shoes were such a disappointment. Considering the price tag, these boots should be half of what they are charging, if not less. To begin, the boots are indeed leather, but it feels very cheap. Like a lot of cheap boots, a simple scratch on the boot's surface will stay forever. The inside is lined with a fiber-like material, in many fuax suede boots you find. Also, the calf part of the boot is HUGE! if you have smaller calves, this boot will swallow your leg whole. They go up to the knee, so they are a taller boot. Also, they run a little small. If you wear say a 9, a 9.5 would be the best option, I have found. Also, the cute detailed strap on the back with the knit section, keeps falling down to the heel area. The shaft of the boot also has a weird shading to it. Instead of it looking uniformly distressed, it looks like someone dipped a paintbrush in a faded black color and just poked around on the boot. It looks almost polka dotted.
I really wanted to like this boot (especially for the price), but sadly, I will be returning. It is ABSOLUTELY not worth the price. Good idea, but way too cheaply made. Total bummer.

I tried these on at a department store before I bought them online, so I knew what to expect. The calf is larger than many of the other ones I tried on, and I'm very grateful for that since my calves can be considered "average." The calf circumference is perfect for wearing skinny jeans and boot socks. These boots were comfortable from the moment I tried them on and the leather is soft and high quality. The buckle strap is adjustable in case you want to tighten the fit on your foot. The shaft goes almost all the way up to my knee, and I am 5'11", so they're pretty tall. The embroidery on the heel is one of my favorite aspects of these boots and gives them personality.

Stunning boots, Run a little small & tall

I ordered these boot on a whim, and fell in LOVE when I saw them in person. The color is a dark maroon, with fading to black around the toe/heel and the real leather smells wonderful. BUT just like other reviewers have said, they are too tall for me (5'3), and they are a little narrow in the toe box. So I should have ordered a 1/2 size bigger. Wish I could keep them!
Feminine features, like a stacked heel and tapered straps, add charm to this harness boot.

Words cannot due justice to the love I feel for these boots. My feet are a just a smidge wider than average and I have athletic calves, so boot shopping can be a nightmare. These boots run a bit on the wide side, as my wide-but-not-wide-enough-for-wide-side feet had plenty of room in these, and the shaft comes just under that troublesome ball of my calf -- the perfect height -- without being too tight or too loose on the rest of my leg. I love that the shaft is asymmetrical, it really adds a little edge. These look great with skinny jeans and have a good amount of arch support. Heel is the pretty much the perfect height for a little boost that's comfortable to walk in all day.
A quick note on color. I actually bought these in-store at Nordstrom, not from Amazon, and out of the box they're not a very dark brown at all. They're more of a dull medium brown, a maple-ish color. If you're looking for a nice, dark, rich brown, rub in a couple layers of leather conditioner and these babies will darken up beautifully.
And one more quick note on the smooth leather sole. I wasn't a fan, so I took it to my neighborhood cobbler and had them add a rubber half sole. Looks great, walks even better, I highly recommend having it done.

i have 2 pairs of these boots (grey and brown), and am contemplating the black ones right now, so that tells you how much in love with these i am.
i got the grey ones as a christmas gift this past year, and when they arrived, they were a bit snug on my size 10 feet. i'm normally somewhere in-between regular and wide width shoes (i have shoes of either width, and both sorts fit me fine), and the toebox of these boots reminded me that it's sometimes nice to have a little extra room. the grey is just such an amazingly lovely color and texture (one co-worker asked me if they were made of something exotic like elephant or rhino) that these quickly became my go-to boots for the rest of the winter. within about a month or so, they broke in very nicely and became very easy on & off and fit much more comfortably. i later snagged my brown pair used, and that breaking-in period had already happened with them - perfect fit from the start.
they're lush under jeans (or over jeans, if you like tucking your pants in) and the harness is a fun stylish flair. i've worn the grey ones with dress slacks in the winter, too, just the toes & heel peeping out, and they looked unexpectedly professional with that outfit.
i've read other people's reviews that complained about how big the tops of these boots are - pay attention to the measurements of the opening in the calf as compared to your calf width, as these are in fact rather wide at the top. i'm a larger person with thick calves, and it's usually very challenging to find anything other than plain black boots made of some stretch fabric that will fit my legs well. both pairs of these boots seem to have been made just for me - they fit my legs great, with even just enough extra room that i could tuck in my jeans if i wanted to, so their generous sizing is a big plus in my book.

I bought these for myself as a birthday present, I always wanted a pair of Frye's. As expected, I LOVE them, and have received many compliments. What I love best about them is that I am petite and most of my jeans are boot cut. Because of the lower shaft on this boot they fit perfectly under my boot cut jeans (I don't tuck my jeans in my boots) and there isn't a strange lump under the jeans as there has been with other higher shaft boots I've tried and had to return. Great color (brown) and weathered style, too. Oh, and they are quite comfy. :)

These were a little difficult to get my feet into the first time, however I wore them all day, and I was very comfortable in them. I received numerous compliments on these boots. Since it is still summer, I have only worn them twice, but I am looking forward to this winter! I was very intimidated buying boots online. My feet are very average, neither wide nor narrow. These boots fit to my shoe size. (sometimes you see reviews where they recommend you size up or down, but these were spot on)Very pleased with my purchase.

Absolutely LOVE my Boots I got the Shattered Marble, I wear a size 8 and the size was spot on. I have gotten so many compliments on them and I have only had them a week. They came in 2 days when I asked for the super saver slow shipping so that was fantastic! they are comfortable and absolutely stunning, they have a bit of sparkle to them which I didnt see byt the picture but it just makes them that much more awesome! HIGHLY recommend and amanzon is the cheapest place I oculd find them I have been looking everywhere for these boots!

I purchased these boots maybe 2-3 weeks ago. I've worn them twice. The color I selected was Shattered Tan with red/pinkish roses. I had been watching these guys for a couple of weeks just to see if they would drop in price, when they hit $211, I jumped on them! Here's the deal. These are some TALL boots! I'm 5'8" with very strong, thick calves which I like to show off in cowboy boots, these thangs darn near cover my calves! They're about 13" in shaft height. I wasn't expecting them to be so tall. Not that I'm complaining. The shaft lenght actually makes these more appropriate for wearing with short skirts, dresses, and short shorts. Be mindful that you need to stick with your natural shoe size. I ordered an 11 because cowboy boots can be a little funny on fit. I should've gotten a 10. The leather is nice and kinda soft. The color is more tan with tiny flecks of gold sparkles in it. Again, I'm crazy about a leather sole and these boots have 'em! I haven't had a problem at all with the girls and don't anticipate any either. When I've worn the boots I've gotten more compliments from men inquiring about the quality, comfort, and the manufacturers of them than women. Go figure! My man likes it when I wear cowboy boots and said these were beautiful when I bust them outta their box. These will be my more fancy cowboy boots and will be spared the continuous wear I'm known for putting on a boot.

I searched long and hard for the perfect boot and finally found it! My first criteria: a black boot that could be worn under boot-cut jeans or over skinny jeans; second: a tall enough heel for long pants but comfortable enough to wear all day. They also have the perfect toe. I am in the process of breaking these in (to be expected with Fryes)- I bought a half size smaller than I normally would have based on another recommendation. This is my third pair of Fryes and I do notice they have a narrower fit than my others, so maybe reconsider if you have a wider foot.

I just purchased my second pair of Frye Jackie Button boots in vintage leather after I decided that it may be a good idea to alternate, since I now wear my first pair every single day! The first color I bought is called Light Grey Vintage Leather, which is really a light taupe/dark neutral beige. The second pair I bought is Cognac Vintage Leather, which is the perfect shade of dark saddle/British tan (like Coach's British Tan bags)-- not too red, not too brown, and not too orangey. These are the most comfortable boots I've ever walked the city in. They are made perfectly, from the elegant simple design to the just-right heel height to the rubber grippy sole. It goes without saying that the leather is thick and the craftsmanship is excellent. I have high arches and the arch support is superb. I have wide toes, but I don't find the almond toe too tight, even with thick socks. I always wear a size 6 in boots and this size 6 fits me perfectly. I have slender calves and ankles, and I like that the shaft width is not too wide or saggy when I wear the boots with a skirt but I can easily slide them on and off when I wear the boots over jeans. I had been firmly opposed to buying a boot without a zipper because I absolutely hate to work hard to take boots on and off, but I got these anyway and they have proven to be super easy to take on and off. Also, many people have written that Frye boots can be difficult to take on and off when new and sometimes are too tight to get the ankle in before they're broken in, but the Jackie Button has been a breeze, even in the vintage leather. My first pair required no wearing in whatsoever and the new pair I just bought will need only a couple of wears, if only to mold perfectly to my feet. But even without the breaking in, they are already extremely comfortable. I can't speak for the nubuck version (the leather with a velvety finish), but the vintage leather (with the shinier finish) is gorgeous. It can be dressed up or down. I wear mine with dresses, skirts, jeans, leggings, cords, even pajamas.:) I don't want to take them off at the end of the day because they are so comfortable. I have seriously considered falling asleep in them. The sole is so comfortable, I forget that I'm wearing a 2.5-inch heel, which gives me a nice lift. I run around the city in these boots (and I mean I literally jog from place to place when I'm in a hurry) and they are tough enough to knock around on concrete without having to worry about every little scuff. The only sad thing is that the rest of the shoes and boots in my closet now sit untouched, since I always want to wear my Frye Jackies... I think I'm going to get the black ones too. I also agonized about the price and researched boots for a month straight before taking the plunge. I'm incredibly glad I did. These boots are worth every penny because they'll last a long time, withstand trends, and can be worn with so many things. I can't recommend them enough.

LOVE these boots! They fit true to size, although my best friend would say they fit large. I wear a 7.5-8 and I got an 8. I would have been fine in a 7.5, if it weren't for the calf size. I have 15" calves, so the calf is quite tight (14" circumference). I have a few other Fryes and they've stretched a bit, so I am going to have these professionally stretched and pray they stretch a bit more. Keeping them!

I love the fit and feel of these boots. I got the black suede in a size 7 and they fit true to size. Can be worn with just about anything, either dress them up or down and you will look great. I hope they last my lifetime b/c they are wonderful boots and worth the investment. Would love to get them in brown, maybe in the near future.

These are beautiful quality boots. Suede is absolutely gorgeous. I splurged and bought them in black and brown. But I know this kind of quality lasts forever. Fit is true to size. I've already had compliments after one wearing!

I have had a hard time finding shoes that do not hurt given my growing bunion. I wear 8.5 of Addidas or size 39 of Todds and I ordered 9 W for LaC Passion Suede. I was so pleased when I put them on. Feel great (no break in required) and look great in jeans or skirt. And extremely tempted to order other LaC model/color. There are not many brands that offer WIDE width as a functional benefits and at the same time, offer stylish look. And, I do not need to worry about wiping my shoes in wet weather as they are made weather proof. I am extremely happy and thankful, to have a pair of boots that I could walk and travel painless, and in style!
