Best Boots Ever!

Just received my Cavalry Strap 15L boots in dark brown! Have been searching all my life for these boots and I'm not kidding! Finally Frye made the boot I have been searching for that didn't exist until now! No more late nights on Zappos and Amazon searching and dreaming. Tall shaft, leather sole, leather stacked heel, gorgeous brown and comfortable. Tried the Frye Campus in a 9 and it didn't fit my foot or leg and very hard to get on and off. These fit like butter. Easy to get on and off, I don't need a man (or my sister) to pull these off! They are generous in the leg but not baggy, just a nice fitting boot around the calf. Great with skirts and tights and I can tuck jeans into them easily. Flattering boot. I am 5'8" tall, my calf is about 14" and wear a size 9. (Sometime I'm an 8.5 but never a 9.5) The shaft is nice and tall and doesn't cut into my leg at all, it is loose but stands up tall without slouching. Toe is perfect (I don't like pointy toes) and the buckle across ankle is nice without being too flashy. I have had the Frye Harness boots for 15 years and love those, they are size 8.5 and well worn. I am all about comfort these days so If you want something comfortable and classy looking these are the boots!
Update: I had to return these boots. I notices black thread coming out of the sole stitching (which is sewn with white) and was afraid the whole thing would start to unravel. Not something I would expect from Frye. Only got to wear them twice before I noticed this stray thread. They also started to get baggie around the ankle and not stand up tall, not expected after only 2 wearings. Still waiting for my refund from Amazon...
update: Amazon refunded with no problems.

sturdy boots

These boots are great. I'm just under 5'6 and they hit just under my knee. I have many pairs of Fryes, and I find these comparable to the harness 15R in terms of height and style. These, however, are "dressier," and the leather is not as stiff. For example, I'd wear my harness 15Rs in the rain or with snow on the ground, but I wouldn't wear these cavalry straps. The leather on these is thinner, comparatively, and the sole is leather rather than neoprene. These boots are pretty easy to pull on and off, but may be difficult for someone with high arches (I have flat feet, no problem there). I bought my usual size in them and they fit well. I can see the shaft on these eventually slouching down with wear, since they the leather is thin, which isn't a problem for me but may be off-putting for some. When I say "thin," I don't mean cheap. The leather is soft and high quality, its just not as thick as some of the other, heavier Frye styles. Specifically I think of the harness and engineer styles as being heavier.
