Great shoes

I usually wear a size 9 and I ordered a size 9 and they fit great, not too tight and not too loose. The combination zipper and tie makes for a larger degree of flexibility, so if I want to wear them with slightly thicker jeans tucked in, I can, by loosening the tie.
Like all Frye's, they are made of wonderful and supple leather with that pre-worn in feel (probably more so than other pairs I own, like the Melissa buttons which take a little wearing in). The soles are made from leather with rubber treads, so I don't have to re-sole with rubber like I did with my Melissas (I live in Minnesota and leather on snow/ice = higher chance of slipping/falling/hurting yourself not to mention wet leather soles are terrible for your boots). I do feel like I have pretty slim ankles though and while they fit me perfectly, if you worry about them fitting around your ankles, I recommend trying them on at a store before buying just to be sure.
I highly recommend them as a great addition to your boot collection. I even got a 20% discount by signing up for Shoe Emails through Amazon. Worth it.
