Really nice boots

I was looking for boots I could wear to the barn and possibly for riding. A lot of the equestrian winter boots are so bulky and many were just either too expensive, too bulky or not rated for warmth. Upon reading reviews that these boots rum small, I ordered them 1/2 size larger than I normally wear. Good thing I did. They fit great, even with thick wool socks. They are warm, water proof, immediately comfortable (no breaking in required), and look great. Even though they are not really riding boots, they work well for riding also. Watch your toes though. The foot portion is rubber and does not have a reinforced toe, so if a horse stepped on your toes you may have a problem. Other than that they are great! These boots are not exactly inexpensive, but compared to a lot of other winter equestrian tall boots they are at least 1/2 the cost with the added benefit of being water proof. They are very well made and I am very happy with them, but I feel they would be better priced at about $150 vs. $209.

Looked forever for a black casual boot

This boot wayyyyyy exceeded my expectations - I must have tried on 10 pairs of black casual boots, all of them disappointing except these. Some were too rain boot looking, so were too wide at the calf, Some were just ugly - it's hard to get black boots right. These are toasty, fit wonderfully (I have a small calf and these fit nicely - not too wide and not too slim), and I can see wearing them with leggings, skinny jeans, skirts, so many things - and they are equally as appropriate for rain, snow, or no weather at all. They look very expensive - the leather is Frye quality. Highly, highly recommend - so much so that I'm getting another pair in Shale or Charcoal, haven't decided.

Why do you make them run small....?!

It could definetly be better for the price. The fact that it runs small is upsetting, how long have you been making shoes....your a shoe company, make it true to size so we won't have to reorder and return. Process returning them was very stressful. I like the look of the boot, the comfort was not that great. The comfort could be better. On the fence with the price & fit. Should be done better.
