Good quality, great for wider calves!

I was hesitant to order these boots without trying them on. I have the very common issue of knee high boots not fitting my "plus sized" calves (a.k.a. NORMAL calves). I generally need about 15 3/4" circumference and these fit that very comfortably.
I couldn't find a review in sight but decided to take my chances...so I'm here to tell you that these are amazing! The quality is good, they have a cute leopard print lining, and they have a lot of interest. I also believe that the fact that they zipper up the back makes it easier to get around your calves. It also looks cooler! I bought these in "cognac" but I might have to get them in black...we will see how they hold up but I think they are worth the investment.

really love these boots!!

These boots are definitely made for a taller person,the shaft is longer so they actually go all the way up to just below my knee. A short person would probably have trouble with the length of the shaft so beware. They are very comfortable for walking and the leather is nice with more of a worn in look, casual not dressy. I got the cognac which is a great color although it scuffs easily, but honestly not a problem with a little leather conditioning cream. All in all a great boot.

Stylish casual, moto/western style boot!!

Initially I was a bit concerned about ordering these boots, as I read reviews that were either "great!!!" or "bad!!!", lots of complaints about the boot shaft being too tall, off sizing, and difficulties getting them on and off, etc. I'm very glad I decided to order them anyways, and I have always been happy with all of my other Betsey Johnson shoes. I do think these boots run slightly small, as I always wear a 7.5 but went with an 8, and the 8 fits great with socks on. I am also only 5'4" and I find that the shaft height is perfect, right at/below my knees, which is perfect, and the shaft width is great, too. I have very narrow calves ("chicken legs"), but I loved the adjustable buckle at the top of the shaft, which I put on the tightest setting, and the fit is very comfortable and looks good, but not too large/wide, perfect with my jeans tucked in. I find that the back zipper makes getting these boots on and off very easy, so I'm not sure about the complaints I read about these boots being difficult in this area, I actually find it to be the exact opposite. Again, I have a narrow foot, and thin calves, so perhaps this makes the experience different for me?? The grey distressed leather is so stylish; the boots have a great worn-in look and they have a moto-western style I love, which is a great alternative to my more dressy, polished riding boots. The leopard print lining is cute and classic Betsey Johnson, the weight and quality of the leather is nice, and the sole of the boot is hard, substantial, and solid, which leads me to believe these boots will be sturdy and long lasting. Please note, if you buy the grey leather, it is distressed and not completely smooth, so if you don't want nicks, creases, and that "lived in" look, I would suggest another color/finish. I had previously research a similar looking pair of Frye boots for months but had trouble justifying spending $300+, and I found that these boots are a great option for those ladies like me, looking for that Frye style without spending quite so much $$$.
