Great Boot!

I've been looking at this boot for awhile. It is my second pair of Frye boots and because of the price, I wanted to be sure they are something I would get a lot of use out of. I am usually a size 8 but can wear 7.5 in sandals and some styles of shoes so I was unsure of sizing. I ordered the 8's and had to send them back. I ordered the 7.5 and they fit perfectly. I love this boot, get lot's of compliments. Goes on great with my skinny jeans. I have muscular calves so I ordered the extended calf. Perfect. .

Finally a boot that fits my calves right out of the box!

I'm a distance runner and CrossFitter. Needless to say I have huge calves. I like to say "Athletic Calves" because it sounds better. Doesn't it? I also have one calf that's bigger than the other. This sucks when it comes to boot shopping and obviously makes boot purchases very tricky. I'm also a Frye whore. Sorry is Amazon a family site? Can I not use that word? I've bought 5 pairs in the last 9 months. I love the quality and look that Frye has. The first pair I bought were the Veronica Back Zip, I'm obsessed with those boots and had to have them stretched over a 3 week period, going back and forth to the cobbler every week to get them to fit. I told you I have big calves. (Athletic). The other Frye boots I have purchased are all ankle height because of the calf situation. I was excited to see the Jane 14L came in an Extended Calf edition. I was still hesitant because of the Veronica Back Zip situation. It sucks spending $300 plus dollars on a pair of boots, counting down the days until they arrive, to just spend another $40 stretching them and waiting another 3 weeks to wear them. I got the boots yesterday and they slipped right on out of the box! I LOVE them! To give you guys exact measurements, I'm a perfect 7.5 in all shoes and Frye boots, I'm 5' 2" and my left calf is 15" and my right is 15.5". The right boot is obviously a little more snug but I think the leather will stretch with time. The boots are gorgeous and have all the quality and craftsmanship that Frye boots do. Plus the leather smell, oh my yum. The straps inside really help to pull the boots up too and I still feel like I have enough room to wear them with skinny jeans. I have them on with leggings right now. They are super comfy too, the heel isn't too high. I'm seriously in love. All you big calved ladies I hope this review helps and I say we bombard Frye's with emails begging them to come out with more extended calf styles!!!

Great "extended calf" boot

I ordered this boot because I know Frye boots are great quality and last forever. My calves measure 15 1/2" so I took a chance and purchased the extended calve version of this boot as I wanted room to wear over jeans/leggings. The details stated that the boot circumference was 17". Well....it is 17" circumference around the outside of the boot...the interior circumference is more like 15 3/4". I am able to get them over jeans and leggings but if you have a calf measurement over 151/2" these boots probably won't work for you. They are also a little slouchy around the ankle. I don't mind this but if you are looking for something a little more fitted this may not be the boot for you. I also purchased boot "pull on" hooks. These little babies help a lot when putting these boots on by giving you a little extra leverage when pulling them up.....which also eliminates some of the slouchiness by the ankle. All in all I am satisfied with this purchase. The quality of the leather is superb and they feel great on my feet.
