Not as good as I had hoped for, but better than most of the rest

Cons: the toe is too pointy, giving it a much more western-style affect than I hoped for
this is oddly combined with a fairly formal, high-gloss finish on the leather, making for a weird "dressy cowboy" look
the shank is about 1 inch shorter than the last pair of Born knee-high booths I bought, I prefer the higher length
they seem to be slightly loose in the foot, although not enough to go down a size, and also fitting nearly precisely the same as the most recent pair I bought in another style. They are very consistent with the sizing, and also probably designing them to be worn with thicker socks. I wear them in the summer with trouser socks, so they have some slight wiggle room, but because the construction is so good, my foot does not suffer even slightly, or shift and slide within the boot. Not a complaint, more of an observation.
Pros: those are just nit-picks. These boots, like every pair of Born shoes I have ever worn, are so comfortable and well-made, I don't even care that much about the style-points, because I don't think I could buy a better pair of boots with an unlimited budget, let alone with more than a 50% mark-down and spending less than $150 dollars. They are comfortable, pretty, and I can walk fast and hard all day long and my feet do not get hot, cold, or tired. Every day so far that I wear them, I say words of thanks at the end of the day for such a nice purchase for myself that I can get home and not be nearly hobbled in pain or feeling the need to scream if I cannot get off my feet. My feet at the end of the day wearing Born boots are probably the freshest part of my body, a lot more prepared to go another few rounds than my brain is. lol.

Beautiful, well-made boots

These boots are wonderful! Comfortable, well-made and look great. I have wide calves and because there is some stretch on top they fit well. If you have narrow calves, these may be too wide for you. FYI, most people agree they run at least half a size too big. I usually wear size 8.5 and sometimes a 9, but in these boots I needed an 8.

Love these boots!

I recently bought these for a trip I took to NYC. I work on a ranch so I am extremely fussy about boots and wanted something comfortable and sturdy enough for the city but still stylish. These boots really fit the bill! I tromped all over the city in them and, although I am not at all accustomed to walking on concrete, my feet, legs, and back were all quite happy by the end of the day. As to their look, my hostess (who's a bit of a fashionista) told me she was secretly hoping I'd forget them so she could keep them! I can't really speak to long-term durability because I'll probably only wear them a few weeks each year but they seem well made and I expect to have them for a very long time!
